Also, Hillary just taught me to knit in five minutes.
So, number two. Let’s see. Worked today. It went as well as usual. Better than the last couple weeks of holiday rush, but not as smoothly as it could have. We should have received a reptile and a fish order today, but nothing came by the time I left, so Ryan was probably left holding the bag (so to speak).
When I moved the site over to wordpress one of the reasons I did so was so that I could easily keep a journal.
So, along with taking a picture every day, I’m also writing a a small blog entry. (more…)

Desire: “I prefer my shorter, less useful definition.”
Hillary: “I got to define it etymologically, back to it’s Greek origins. Do you know them?”
Desire: “There was this guy named Hubris…”
Today we went to the Halloween Cat Show at the Halifax Forum! There were, sadly, no Sphynxes to be seen, but there were some Rexes and Oriental Shorthairs (which Des loved because they looked like they wouldn’t shed very much), some Maine Coons (which I loved because I love GIANT cats!) and the tiniest cutest five month old calico entered in the household pet category (which EVERYONE in the entire show loved. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen). (more…)
Desire and I have been ill, so we decided to go out on the town for a short jaunt in order to get some fresh air and get us home before it got too chilly. We started out at the Halifax Market in the Brewery - my first trip there, though Desire had been before when he went to school here. It was VERY different from the Ottawa market that I’m used to - for one thing, Ottawa’s Byward Market encompasses all kinds of independent shops that line the streets for several blocks as well as all kinds of stalls along the street, many of which are there every day for the summer, and much of the spring and fall as well.
